A die cut sticker is cut all the way through the vinyl and the backing, following the edge of your design with a thin white border. It is the sticker people picture when they hear the word: the logo on a laptop lid, the mascot on a water bottle, the brand on a cooler. Every one of ours is printed on Orajet outdoor vinyl, laminated in gloss or matte, then contour cut on our plotter in Chatsworth.
There is no die to make and no die charge. The cut path comes from your artwork, so a run of 10 costs a few dollars a piece and a run of 1,000 costs cents. Upload a PNG with a transparent background and the outline is already there. Upload anything else and our art team draws the cut line for you.
What makes a good die cut file
Give us the art at the size you want it printed, or bigger, on a transparent background. Thin details narrower than about 1/8" get lost in the cut, so keep tails, antennae, and script letters chunky or let the white border bridge them. Text under 8 point reads as fuzz once the sticker is on a bottle. Not sure? Send it and we will tell you.
Gloss or matte
Gloss is the classic look, saturated color with a wet shine that pops on a dark laptop. Matte kills glare and photographs better, which is why brands that shoot product photos usually pick it. Both are laminated, both are dishwasher safe, both last years outdoors.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between die cut and kiss cut?
Die cut is cut through the vinyl and the backing, so the whole sticker is the shape of your art. Kiss cut is cut through the vinyl only and stays on a square backing, easier to peel and hand out. Same vinyl, same print, same price.
Can I order different designs in one run?
Yes. Open the designer and add a version for each design with its own quantity. The line total follows the combined count, so 4 designs at 25 each price like 100 stickers, not four runs of 25.
How small can the details be?
Keep lines and gaps at 1/8" or wider and text at 8 point or larger. The white border around a die cut is 1/16" by default; pick the 1/8" border for thin or spiky shapes so the cut has something to hold.
Do I get to approve a proof before you print?
Yes. Approve your own proof in the online designer and the order goes straight to production, no waiting. Prefer we build it, upload your files, our art team lays it out and emails a proof, and nothing prints until you say so.
What file types can I upload?
PNG, JPG, PDF, SVG, AI, and EPS all work. For die cut stickers a PNG with a transparent background is ideal, the cut line follows the edge of your art. Vector files print sharpest at any size. Rough file? Our art team cleans it up.
Are they waterproof and outdoor safe?
Yes. Printed on Orajet 3164 outdoor vinyl with a clear laminate over the print, they are dishwasher safe, waterproof, and rated for years outdoors on cars, coolers, and water bottles.
How fast will I get my order?
Standard production is 5 business days after proof approval. Need it faster, 3 business days is 50% more and next business day is 100% more, confirmed by the shop after you order. Everything prints and cuts in our Los Angeles shop. Flat rate shipping is $5.95, free over $100, and local pickup in Chatsworth is always free.
Can I reorder the same design later?
Yes. Your artwork and cut file stay on file, so a reorder takes about a minute and matches the first run.
